How To Fix Loose DC Motor Magnets?

DC motor magnets are typically secured with glue or bolts. During operation, magnets may become loose due to stress or temperature. Loose DC motor magnets can cause unstable rotor operation, which can lead to malfunctions, equipment damage, or even personal injury.

 

Solution
1. Check the Magnetic Pole System

First, eliminate any changes in the magnet's main magnetic field. Use a force meter, multimeter, or other tool to check whether the output magnetic field changes normally. If the magnetic field changes significantly, check for deterioration in the magnet glue or cracks, as these may cause the magnet to become loose.

2. Secure the Magnet

If the magnet is indeed loose, re-secure it. For magnets bonded with silicone rubber, use a blade or metal scraper to scrape off the deteriorated silicone rubber and then re-glue the magnet. For magnets secured with screws, tighten the loose screws.

3. Replace the Magnet

If the magnet is severely deteriorated or has excessive cracks, it is unsuitable for use and needs to be replaced. Before replacing the magnet, check whether the parameters such as magnetic polarity and size are the same as the original magnet to avoid incompatibility.
